Plans around GALICIA

If you have a layover do the stop for couple of days in the preferred city (Barcelona or Madrid). Then fly or train to La Coruña airport or Santiago de Compostela airport. The wedding will be in La Coruña. But there is a lot to see in Galicia for the ones that want to stay a little longer.
Here some of our Recommendations:

40 min by car or 30 by train from La Coruña. Also the main airport in Galicia so connections should be better from this airport.

World Heritage Site since 1985, for centuries Santiago de Compostela has attracted visitors and pilgrims from all over the world
Visit the Cathedral, Catholic Kings Hotel (obradoiro Sqare) and walk through the streets (Calle Franco).

Things to do:
• Eat Tarta de Santiago (a must)
• Have some Tapas in Calle Franco (local white wines are good try: Godello + Ribeiro)
• See Mercado de Abastos
• Casa Marcelo is a Michelin Star Restaurant very famous in Santiago

The Ribeira Sacra could be defined as one of inland Galicia’s best-kept secrets. This area is formed of 26 municipalities in the south of Lugo province and the north of Ourense province, bound together by the rivers Miño, Sil, Cabe and Bibei.

It was here in these lands, in either bucolic or rugged sites, that monks and hermits came to lead an ascetic life at the beginning of the Christian era. These settlements, with the passing of time, became flourishing monasteries from where art, culture and material progress spread out to all of Galicia.

Things to do:

The company Vista Sacra organises gastronomic visits, visits to local wineries on the river Minho, stays in pazo-style rural houses, boat trips on the river (also to wineries) and in general complete personalised experiences. The contact is Ramon Lorenzo (+34 650074599) friend and guest of our wedding.
